I realized that I never blogged our Turkey and Greece trip from 2014 so I thought I would do it now.
We spent 5 days in Istanbul and, 3 in Santorini and 2 in Athens. This is the Hagia Sophia.
Built in 537 as a Christian church, later used as a mosque and now a museum.
This is the entrance to the Grand Bazaar.
Topkapi Palace where the sultans lived.
The blue mosque
A turkish rug store where the Lybberts bought a rug
Our Istanbul hotel
A whirling dervish
A market by our hotel
City walls
Streets of Istanbul
View from our hotel balcony. You can see the the haiga Sophia peeking out behind the buildings.
Underground cistern
Mosque of Suleyman
Spice market
Turkish delight
Turkish shave (we also went to a Turkish bath which was quite the experience but no photos of that)
Wandering Istanbul
